We treat a
variety of athletes from weekend warriors to elite runners and everything
in between. Whether you have a chronic injury that prevents you from
performing at your best or just need some shoe advice, we probably
have the right solution for you. Many clinics will tell an injured
athlete to rest for 2-3 months or even worse, choose a different sport.
At FDFAC, we understand how important your physical health is to your
emotional health, and we're committed to doing everything we can to
get you back into the game as quickly as possible. In addition to our
state-of-the-art equipment used for diagnosis and treatment, we utilize
a team approach in cooperation with our clinical partners to take care
of all your lower extremity needs.
Biomechanics and Orthotics
Since 1990, FDFAC has specialized in enhancing sports performance through
biomechanical analysis and orthotic therapy. Unlike many practices who
take a one-size-fits-all approach to orthotics, the team members at FDFAC
utilize the latest technology to truly customize an orthotic to meet your
individual sports needs. Their comprehensive analysis includes a non-weight
bearing examination, a weight-bearing examination, a walking gait analysis,
and a running gait analysis. We check your shoes, we check your posture.
We have a fully functioning research gait lab with specialized video and
in-shoe pressure and force software to enhance our biomechanical treatments.
Our goal is not just to make sure your feet are properly aligned, but to
make sure you are functioning at your personal best at every level, and
if you’re not, were committed to helping you get there.
Diagnostics
FDFAC is proud to offer the newest technology to quickly and accurately diagnose
pathology. On-site digital x-ray provides immediate imaging of bone and
associated disorders. Whether you have a fracture, flat feet or have a
structural abnormality such as a bunion, being able to differentiate osseous
pathology is essential in formulating a treatment plan. Musculoskeletal
ultrasound enables us to identify soft tissue pathology including plantar
fasciitis, neuroma and joint inflammation without having to refer out for
expensive, time-consuming MRI. We also use ultrasound to guide our needle
placement for injections. This increases treatment effectiveness and reduces
the need for multiple injections because the exact location for needle
placement is clearly visualized. We provide hard copies of digital x-ray
(CD) and ultrasound (printed images) studies free of charge on your first
visit.
Shoes
Integral to optimizing sports performance is the correct fit and design of
your shoes. The most personalized treatment plan will not be as effective
as it could be if the proper shoes are not worn. At FDFAC we are passionate
about shoe fit and have been blogging about shoes since 2008. With more
comprehensive shoe knowledge than you will find in any other clinical office
setting, our goal is to not merely give you an “approved shoe list”,
but rather to educate you about what your feet need in a shoe to function
at peak performance. A professional shoe fitting by a team member at FDAC
can prevent injury and improve endurance. We are intimately familiar with
the most popular shoes worn for running, walking, tennis, cycling, snowboarding,
hiking, golfing, skating, and basketball and will guide you to the best
shoe match for your feet and sport.
Go,
Yelp, Go
I have grumpy, sports-abused feet and decided it was time to
take care of them again; I found Dr. Sanders on Yelp and thanks
to the good reviews of you kind people made an appointment.
Part of me was expecting a 15 minute "poke, prod, here's
the deal and get out of my office" experience. I am so happy
to say I was completely wrong. The moment I walked in the door
I felt like I'd been a patient of Dr. Sanders' for years. Jeremy
is great and super chill at the front desk.
Dr. Sanders spent at least 45 minutes with me examining my feet,
ankles and shoes (cleats, running shoes and daily sneakers) the
whole time explaining what was good, bad and ugly (not my feet
- she complimented my little feet). She explained why things
hurt and what can be done.
The next time I went in to get casted for my orthotics she looked
at my running shoes again and suggested it was time for a new
pair; then she wrote out a list of things to look for (illustrated,
even!) and sent me off with the instruction to come back with
a couple pairs for her to check out.
I just took a couple pairs of new shoes in for her to check
out and as I was leaving there was a woman setting up 10+ pairs
of high heels in the back for the good Dr to take a look at.
Dr. Sanders is serious about helping folks get out of pain -
high heels or not.
Seriously, if you're feet are hurting get over to Dr. Sanders
with no hesitation."
