  Billing Contact
Your policy may seem confusing, and most practitioners may not be able to inform you about your exact benefits. Every doctor's office has access to the same information distributed by each insurance company. This information is preceded with disclaimers from each carrier stating that the benefit information may not be accurate and does not guarantee reimbursement or payment for services.

Your visit is regulated by two distinct contracts

1. Your insurance company dictates the benefits of your unique policy.   2. Your insurance company dictates contracted rate for covered services.

Your policy may also have one or more of the following terms affecting your out of pocket expenses:

  • Deductible - Your portion of up-front fees before your policy starts paying for services.
  • Co-Insurance - Patient pays a percentage of all or selected services of contracted fees associated with your treatment. Co-Insurance may be capped with some policies when a maximum has been reached.
  • Co-Pay - Your portion of payment for an office visit that is prepaid before any billing is done.

Each policy is different, we encourage all of our patients to check with their insurance carrier to fully understand their benefits and financial responsibility.

As a courtesy, we bill your insurance company on your behalf and will even challenge denial of benefits. In some situations, but not all, we have successfully helped our patients receive benefits for services. When a second denial has occurred, we are required to collect payment for all services. If we do not collect the balance of your account, your insurance company may determine this as a breach of contract. If this determination is made, our contract with your insurance company could be jeopardized.

We do not pre-bill for products or services in order for you to understand your financial responsibility.

"Dr. Sanders has helped relieve my plantar fascitis with custom-made orthotics. I had actually seen another podiatrist who looked at my foot and told me to wear Asics and do some stretching. This wasn't helpful.

When I arrived at FDFAC, I was greeted by very friendly staff. Steve at the front desk is very sweet. Dr. Sanders did a complete evaluation including observing me walk and x-raying my feet. She found that I had a bone spur. She then set me up for an orthotic fitting. Jonathan, the physiatrist, did a great job at evaluating my foot. It did take a little while to get the right orthotics. The first pair were made too narrow, and the adjusted version didn't quite work. But Dr. Sanders kept on until we got it right. I now have a pair of well-fitting cushy orthotics that allow me to run again! Yeah!

A few things to know is that the office requires patients to call their insurance companies to figure out your insurance coverage BEFORE scheduling the appointment. Although this might seem tedious, I actually was relieved to know exactly what would be covered and not covered. After this, the insurance billing went smoothly."
