Our
Practice Philosophy is simple:
- Provide quality care to our patients in the same ways we expect
to be treated
- Help educate our patients and partners for optimal outcomes
- Provide transparency for insurance coding and ethical billing
- Add quality and value to the community
Quality of Care
FDFAC believes that you deserve the same quality of treatment that we expect
when we visit a practitioner. Our podiatric professionals will take the time
to fully evaluate your condition and explain each step of the process in
your treatment. Unlike many medical clinics and offices we respect our patients’ time
by never booking two different patients for the same appointment. Your practitioner
will see you within minutes of your scheduled appointment.
Advocates for Your Care
FDFAC understands that navigating through issues relating to your condition
can be daunting and at times more than just a little frustrating. Issues
such as a facility following-up on a test or service can be a pain staking
process. Both medical and support staff at FDFAC go the extra mile to make
sure that all aspects of your care are handled seamlessly with minimal effort
on your part as a patient. These extra steps that we take are not the usual
way most clinics conduct their business. We believe that minimizing the stress
associated with your appointment will help you to recover more quickly.
Clinical and office staff provides the following services for
our patients:
- Pre-authorization of MRI/CT/Ultrasound at Clinical Partner
facilities
- Rapid response radiogical reports
- Double check of all MRI & CT reports to insure accurate
findings
- Follow-up with clinical partners so that all clinicians are
on the path of your treatment plan
Some patients have had scans performed at facilities that would
not get test pre-authorization prior to imaging. Without pre-authorization
from your insurance carrier prior to undergoing one of these tests,
you are responsible for all charges at the non-contracted rate
which can be in excess of $1200. With prior pre-authorization your
insurance contract rates apply reducing your out of pocket expenses
considerably.
- Rapid response radiogical reports
- Re-review X-Ray, MRI & CT reports to ensure accurate findings
- Follow-up with clinical partners so that all clinicians are
on the path of your treatment plan
We go over individual reports and images with a fine tooth comb.
Most practitioners just read the report and start treatment without
taking the time to verify the radiologist’s findings. In
some instances, we find injuries that have been missed in the radiologist’s
initial reading. When injuries are present and not identified,
they can delay healing or result in further injury.
Over the years, FDFAC has identified many life threatening symptoms
and referred to specialists and facilities in order to make sure
our patients get the same type of treatment that we would get for
ourselves.
Patient and Partner Education
Financial District Foot & Ankle Center believes informed patients will
have the best possible outcome. We provide free information to help our patients
better understand their diagnosis and treatment options. We work with our clinical
partners for one common goal - to get our patients rehabbed as quickly as possible,
while providing the best care imaginable.
Transparent Insurance Billing Codes
and Ethical Billing
Insurance is confusing for most people. FDFAC provides our patients with standardized
billing codes so they can better understand what their financial responsibility
may be. FDFAC does not use "Wellness Codes", which generally do not
get insurance reimbursement with the full cost coming back to the patient.
We also do not charge a facility fee or a named partner fee that other practitioners
use to increase their profit margins.
Adding Value
FDFAC supports several non-profit groups that provides community benefit. With
our clinical partners, we provide free clinics to groups that participate
in fund raising for medical research and awareness.
